Kathy’s passion and dedication to the hair style and beauty industry are unmatched in this city. Her pursuit of excellence when it comes to servicing her clients drives her to always keep learning. And that’s something to be said for one of Nanaimo’s only Master Stylists.  She has studied, competed, taught and lived hair for over 20 years.

Having spent the last decade on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo, Kathy’s life has settled somewhat from the glamorous high fashion road. But you can’t take the fashion out of the girl. She continues to educate herself in order to offer her clients the best service she can.

Learning Hair from the Best

The schools and places the hair industry has take Kathy span the continent. Including:

Learning at some of the most prestigious institutes on the continent gave Kathy an incredible advantage in jump-starting her career, but a huge part of her knowledge comes from the experience of competition. Kathy competed globally in hair competition for almost 10 years. She’s cut hair in various major cities around the world creating a name for herself in the hair industry.

The Learning Doesn’t End

Kathy continues to hone her craft at trade shows and fashion seminars around Vancouver and Vancouver Island.  Staying a little closer to home these days but still keeping up with the education at the finest salons and institutes in the country..

When choosing colour or design for yourself, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and say, “Can I see myself with brilliant auburn hair or chocalate brown tones. Or would I look better with scattered highlights that brighten my look?”

Kathy’s advice: Talk to your stylist. They have trained to not only look at what you want, but look for what will look best on you. A professional stylist will look at more than just your hair. They’ll take into account your face shape, skin tone and more when determining color. The wrong shade can make your face look too thin or too round. Count on your stylist knowledge to guide you in the right direction.
